Monty's final chapter was service. The family intends his memory to keep serving — through initiatives that reflect the values he lived.
The Roberts family is exploring the establishment of a legacy initiative in Monty's honor. The areas under consideration follow directly from his life:
- Scholarship— supporting gifted students, in the spirit of the Ford Foundation Scholarship that changed the course of Monty's own life.
- Marketing and communications education — encouraging the next generation of strategic storytellers.
- Shelter support — continuing the work with homeless shelters that filled his final years.
